1 Peter 1:3-9
1 Peter 1:3-9 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seenyou love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls."
God is good to give us such beautiful encouragement as we fight our daily battles. These verses have been a sweet resting place for me lately.
We have been granted a living hope - hope when we rise each morning, hope for each trial or disappointment we encounter, hope for an endless eternity with Christ. What a precious gift of love from our merciful Father. The thoughts these verses communicate go right along with what the Lord has been teaching me recently - some of my "resting place" verses have been Psalm 33:18-22 - "Behold the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in His mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee." I love the way the photo you chose lines up with the verses. Thank you for sharing, dear Hannah. The Lord's blessing on your day.
Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is thepower of God unto salvation, to every one that believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
