The Alzen Family's Adoption Concert

The Alzens are a family who we have known for a very long time and they are very dear to us.  Currently, they are going through the process of adopting two Ukrainian orphan boys.  They recently hosted a fundraising concert along with another family band.  It was a great experience of lively music and wonderful fellowship.

I have the Alzen's  blog linked on my sidebar so if you would like to get more information than I am able to provide, please visit their blog.
(They also have an adoption blog linked to their family blog.)

You wouldn't believe how well they played!!!

- Mr Alzen -
- Mrs. Alzen doing sign language for one of their songs -
- Isaac -
- Lucas with his "Whiz - bang" -
- Ana-Lise -
- Tessa -

THE GARMS FAMILY:

At the end of the concert, the two families came to the front together and played Power in the Blood - completely impromptu!  It was wonderful!

Buck #2

Here's Elijah's other buck. Oh, we're SO thankful.
I can't wait to start making a whole bunch of venison dishes!

To God be the GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

   Do you remember when I said that Elijah got ANOTHER eight point buck?  Well, the LORD provided a HUGE deer (really HUGE)!!!!!!! We are SO in awe of what the LORD has done!

I know that you're just "dying" to see the buck that the LORD gifted us with, so, without further adieu - I present to you yet another evidence of the greatness of the God who we serve!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Habakkuk 3:18-19

 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
 The LORD God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.

GOOD NEWS!!!! Yet another gracious provision!!!!

OK - today is the opening day of gun hunting season.  The boys went out hunting with the Richters and were in the stand for about ten minutes when Elijah got a six point buck.  Not too long ago, papa called and said that Elijah had gotten ANOTHER eight pointer!!!!!!!  Is that incredible or what??!!!!!!!!!!!??

 Now we're praying that Jeremiah would get a doe with their remaining tag - I'll keep you updated!

First Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 We had our first snow on Saturday.  It was simply BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

   It was a wet snow so the boys made snowmen and snowforts while I took pictures (surprise, surprise!).  There were so many lovely subjects just "begging" :) to be photographed - these are a very few of the pictures that I took.  Just notice God's majesty and handiwork displayed through this winter blanket.
Jeremiah's happy little snowman. Isn't he CUTE!
Christian just couldn't get enough of the snow! (to eat, that is!)
I know that I've already put this scripture on the blog but these red berries in contrast to the pure white of the snow keeps bringing it to mind.

Isaiah 1:18

Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow.

British Visitors

Recently, Grandma and Grandpa came up for a short visit and brought two of their friends from England.  We had a WONDERFUL time and our Bible reading/study time was especially enjoyable to me.  We are currently reading through the books of Daniel and Revelation so we had some really interesting discussions.  Unfortunately, they didn't stay long but the time that we did have was VERY memorable.

Christ, our God

Psalm 45:6-7

 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
 You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.

Hebrews 1:8-9

 But to the Son He says:

“ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

We were doing our devotions last night and we looked up these verses that were almost exactly the same - I thought that it was pretty amazing - notice how both of the passages call Christ "God" - so here are a couple of scriptures to refute the arguments of those who say that Christ is not God!

At the Richter's

On Sunday, we went out to the Richter's home to have
 some fellowship and also ..... a whole lot of fun!

There was a hay ride ...

... Gunny-sack races ...

Elijah, immediately after being proclaimed the Grand Champion!

... A football toss ...

It's a good thing that they didn't use eggs! :)

... And SO much more!

... including a "hunting trip" made by Elijah and Isaac!

That vehicle is amazingly fun!
The boys made a fort out of the Richter's
firewood - it was actually pretty amazing!
