Crafting - Aprons!

APRONS

My Apron:
(Reversible!)

My Cousins' Aprons:

Grandma's Apron:
(Reversible!)

The reverse side is blue with the striped sunflower fabric for the pocket and border.

I made this apron for grandma's birthday - without a pattern (Yes!) - and for those of you who have sewn with me, you know how I dislike patterns!  I did make mistakes but I have learned from them and now I can't wait to get started on another one - no pattern!

My "Papa"

   Happy Father's Day, Papa!

My father is, has been, and always will be a great blessing and encouragement to me.  He continually directs me in the ways of the LORD.  One thing that I especially appreciate about him is his faith.  Faith that only the LORD can give.  Faith that allows him to leave our home of  6 years and move to the opposite side of the country.  Faith that kept him (and his wonderful wife) in Texas for over 9 months - in an RV with 5 children and 2 energetic dogs nonetheless!  Faith that now keeps him trusting in the LORD for direction concerning the next part of our journey.

He is a shepherd to his family, leading us in family devotions each day; exhorting us to grow ever nearer to our blessed Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Examining the word of God and revealing his ever-growing knowledge to us, that we may apply it to our lives.

He desires with all of his heart to grow nearer to his Saviour.  He yearns to know more of the matchless ways of the LORD.

On this day when we celebrate fathers, I also remember our Heavenly Father who has given me the blessed man who is my "Papa".

Thank you, Papa for the example you are to me of godliness and striving after righteousness.

My Grandparents

We are, at this time, in Iowa. We are currently staying at our grandparent's house and are planing to go back to Minnesota on Monday.
Here is some information that may help you to get "acquainted" with my grandparents.

My Grandparents are amazing.  Their love for the LORD is phenomenal. If you observe either of them, even for a short time, you cannot but notice their zeal for the LORD. In whatever they speak of, Christ's praise is continually on their lips.  I am blessed, so blessed to have grandparents who have such a strong love for the LORD. I love them and thank the LORD for giving me grandparents such as these.

Farm Life

Yesterday, we passed the afternoon and evening at the home of some of our good friends, the Richter family.  They live on a farm and have 8 horses, 5 goats, 2 cats and 1 dog.  My friend, Amanda, has a milk goat and we had the interesting experience of actually seeing her perform the milking process!  We roasted marshmallows around the fire and sang some songs.  All in all, we had a wonderful day!

BOTTLE-FEEDING

You wouldn't believe how FAST he drank that thing!
Christian had the job of feeding the goat.

To the Clouds

Psalm 36:5

Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

A Day Out

On Wednesday we planned to go to Como Zoo, but, due to public school soon coming to an end, there were so many people there (Jeremiah counted somewhere around 48 school buses) that we decided to go to the park instead.  We made a quick stop by Wal-Mart, picked up a ball, bat, and a frisbee, and were on our way!  Not anticipating a day out in the full sun, we had packed no sunscreen and, consequently, I got a pretty good sunburn. It is rapidly fading now, thanks to the coconut oil that I've been using!

BASEBALL
(Whiffle Ball)
Christian and Jonnie, especially, were really hitting well towards the end!
Elijah even DENTED our ball!

RANDOM SHOTS

This was NOT a predetermmined shot!
And no, Jonathan did not hit him!

Hope

Lamentations 3:21-26

This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.
Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
“ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“ Therefore I hope in Him!”
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
to the soul who seeks Him.
It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD.

What's Blooming

Psalm 27:4

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
